The Beachland primarily books national acts, i.e. bands that have a national following, have records out on nationally distributed labels and have a proven local draw. That being said, we do book local and regional bands to fill opening slots for many of the national acts that play here and we do sometimes book all local shows. If you are a local/regional band (or a band from wherever that does not meet our definition of a national act) and want to be considered for a booking here we will need a press package including a CD, photo, and reviews (send to 15711 Waterloo Rd., Cleveland, OH 44110). If we are interested in your band, we will get in touch with you. If you are friendly and professional your chances of getting booked go way up! Be prepared to discuss your band's ability to draw at The Beachland! We don't have opening acts play to fill time, we book opening acts that will add to the crowd for the evening.

What's up with the jukeboxes and pinball machine?
We have two jukeboxes and a vintage pinball machine at the Beachland and we are proud to say that our jukes still play 45 RPM records! Both of the machines (jukebox and pinball) in the back bar are FREE. How many places in Cleveland can say that?

Where do I park?
We do have a small parking lot available to our patrons, but that fills up fast on big nights. The good news is that there are a lot of spaces available within three blocks of the Beachland. You can park on both sides of Waterloo and you can also park on most nearby side streets. Be sure to read all the street signs and don't park where they tell you not to...we have had sold out shows with over 500 people and everybody got a spot somewhere.

Where's the Beach?
We've had more than a few of you ask with a name like Beachland, where's the beach? Actually it's less than a ½ mile north of here. In fact, one of the nation's best known amusement parks -- Euclid Beach – was right at the north end of E. 156th St. Euclid Beach operated from 1894 until 1969 and "Beachland" became the slang name for the whole North Collinwood neighborhood in those days. A number of reminders of the "Beachland" era remain. On E. 185th St. we still have the "Beachland Branch" of the Post Office as well as hardware stores, dry cleaners and other businesses with the "Beachland" name in the area. On Lakeshore Blvd. there is even a Beachland Presbyterian Church! Sadly, very little of the former Euclid Beach Park still exists. The actual "beach" is still there, much of which is now the Euclid Beach State Park, a public swimming area. The old Euclid Beach carved archway entrance also remains and is now serving rather incongruously as the entrance to a senior citizen high-rise apartment building.

What was the Beachland before it was a music venue?
The Beachland Ballroom was built in 1950 as the Croatian Liberty Home, with the ballroom and tavern comprising the original structure. In 1976 the kitchen and back bar area were added. The Liberty Home was active on many social and political fronts and was a true Cleveland landmark before becoming Cleveland's most eclectic music club in the year 2000.
