Multi-platinum trio Echosmith — siblings Sydney, Noah, and Graham Sierota —transpose their collective growth into vibrant and vulnerable alternative pop anthems. Echosmith’s stardom skyrocketed as they came of age together as both a family and a band with a mission to spread love, positivity, and self-acceptance. They cemented themselves as an inescapable presence in music and pop culture with their triple-platinum hit “Cool Kids” and their double-platinum single “Bright” as their full-length debut, Talking Dreams, went gold. Simultaneously, Sydney stood out as a positive cultural force, whether acting as a brand ambassador for Coach, designing a line for Hollister, or duetting on stage with Taylor Swift. They scored another hit with their bold, synth-driven single “Over My Head,” joined for King & Country on the powerful hit “God Only Knows” (Timbaland Remix), and released their acclaimed sophomore album Lonely Generation in 2020. Along the way, the trio has garnered over 1 billion streams, captivated crowds worldwide, toured with twenty one pilots, Pentatonix, and Owl City, collaborated with Steve Aoki, Zedd, For King & Country, Audien, Hunter Hayes, and Mat Kearney, earned major media praise, and performed on numerous national TV shows including Live with Kelly & Ryan, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, TODAY, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Late Show with James Corden and Artists Den.

 Oftentimes the greatest art is born of the right partnership. Lostboycrow, aka Los Angeles singer-songwriter Chris Blair, found just that while collaborating with producer Chris Chu on his upcoming album Indie Pop. 

Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Blair grew up singing along to his parent’s Beatles cassette tapes and watching that thing you do religiously. It was not until high school that he picked up a mic and started performing everywhere he could from showtunes in the gymnasium to pop-punk in a local dive. He later established his genre-fluid style with 2016’s Sigh For Me EP, which he followed up with 2017’s Traveler EP trilogy, 2019's full-length Santa Fe, and last year’s Valleyheart. 

For Indie Pop, it felt important to Blair that he make Lostboycrow “feel more like a band,” something Blair had begun to do on Valleyheart but sought to expand when working with Chu. Chris Chu, who performs with Pop Etc (formerly known as The Morning Benders), built his career touring with '00s indie-pop staples like Grizzly Bear, Death Cab For Cutie, Ra Ra Riot, We Are Scientists, and more, so was the perfect person to produce the record. “That’s always been what I love,” Blair explains of his musical history spent listening to decades-spanning pop-rock bands like the Beach Boys and Fountains Of Wayne. Through working with one of his musical heroes and good friends, Blair crafted the most expansive, ambitious album of his career. 

Taking a handful of ideas left over from the Valleyheart sessions, Blair and Chu wrote 10 new songs where the two played nearly every instrument – along with some help from Cole Petersen on drums. Together, they honed a distinctly power-pop sound, which led Blair to ultimately call the project Indie Pop: a nebulous, purposefully tongue-in-cheek name that reflects Blair’s lighthearted nature and self-awareness. “It just stuck out to me as the perfect amount of not taking itself too seriously because the songs don't really take themselves too seriously,” he says. “This process was a very deliberate I-wanna-make-a-band album, but by the same token, I didn’t want it to come off as, ‘All right now, take me seriously.’” 

Lostboycrow adds, “If Santa Fe was a conversation between my younger and older selves, and Valleyheart was a bouquet of love songs written longingly from my apartment, then I suppose Indie pop is a solitary dance on the way to somewhere unfamiliar. I wanted the music to be as stripped back and carefree as I felt heading into the next chapter. Free from any self-importance or pomp. It was a chance to not take myself too seriously, in all my excitement, hopelessness, hopefulness, and curiosity. A time to lace up my shoes and be more than an observer of life.”

They may be a sibling trio out of Nashville, but there’s nothing country about Band of Silver. Specializing in addictive, arena-ready anthems that blur the lines between vintage rock, 80’s new wave, and modern pop, the breakout three-piece has built a reputation for explosive, electrifying performances that hint at everything from Def Leppard and Madonna to Weezer and Panic! At The Disco. It makes sense, then, that the band traded Music City for LA when it came time to record their upcoming singles, teaming with celebrated producer Mike Green (Paramore, All Time Low) to create a bold, brash sound that’s all their own. 

“We’ve soft released stuff to our fans before, but this will be the first time anyone’s heard what we’re really capable of in the studio,” says singer Avery Silvernagel, who launched the project with her younger brothers (guitarist/singer Alex and drummer Evan) when she was just 19. “These songs are an introduction to who we really are as a band.”

Confident and self-assured, the new music showcases Band of Silver’s youthful exuberance, while at the same time reflecting the trio’s remarkable maturity and restraint. The songs tackle heartbreak and disappointment with hope and perseverance, offering up timely testaments to the power of faith and the unbreakable bonds of family. Avery’s voice is defiantly optimistic on the tunes, balancing beauty and strength in equal measure, and her brothers perform with similar nuance, mixing hard rock grit with glossy pop shine. The results are songs that refuse to give up, even when the going gets tough, gutsy, heartfelt music that insists on better days still to come.

“When you’re going through hard times, you’ve got to keep fighting,” says Avery. “We wrote these songs to remind ourselves of that as much as anyone else.”

While the Silvernagel siblings officially started Band of Silver in high school, their musical roots stretch back far deeper. As a youngster, Evan picked up the drums, while his brother Alex played any instrument he could get his hands on. Avery joined a little later, when she discovered a passion for singing during her teenage years, and the three quickly began writing original material and performing across the country.

“In the beginning, we’d write in the traditional Nashville way, where Alex would bring a guitar and I’d bring lyrics and we’d figure out how to put them together,” says Avery. “With these songs, we wanted to try something different, so we decided to travel to LA to work with some amazing writers like Mike Green and Mitch Marlow, and they really broadened our horizons.”

That ambitious sonic evolution is on full display with the band’s new music, which faces down darkness with light at every turn. The relentless “Always” pairs driving guitars with cinematic synthesizers in an ode to perseverance, while the effervescent “Hello Sunshine” celebrates the joy in silver linings, and the dreamy “Starry Eyed” promises that hope is out there if you’re willing to look for it. Even on more brooding tracks like the ominous “Undertow” and dance-floor ready “Closure,” the band always manages to locate a sense of freedom or escape, reaching out with comfort and companionship for anyone in need.

“At the end of the day, we just to want to energize people,” says Avery. “We want to inspire them to be hopeful, to believe in themselves and each other, because that’s what music has done for us.”
