Blue Lunch is celebrating 41 years of performing throughout the Midwest, and to culminate their 41st year, Blue Lunch is back on December 25 with the 16th Annual X-Mas Night-(not x-mas eve) Latke Party at the Beachland Tavern. Blue Lunch will play their eclectic mix of blues, soul, rhythm and blues, and jazz.
As always, for the X-mas Night Show, Blue Lunch will bring in an outstanding special guest to join the band! This year the band is excited to have, making her Blue Lunch debut, legendary vocalist, Cleveland's First Lady of Jazz/R&B Vocals, Evelyn Wright, backed by Blue Lunch's horn-soaked big sound! Evelyn has been performing for over 40 years, and has toured concert halls, clubs, and festivals throughout North America, with artists including Mel Torme, Harry Belafonte, and others. In 2008, she was awarded the Jazz Legend Award by the CCC JazzFest!
Doors open at 6:30 pm, with festivities kicking off with DJ Pete London spinning blues, soul, jazz, and R&B vinyl. The band takes the stage beginning at 7:30, with Ms. Wright joining in throughout the evening. As always, the usual array of food and beverages, along with homemade latkes (potato pancakes), will be available for sale.
This year, Chanukah will be over before Christmas Night, but you can celebrate whatever holiday you like, or none at all, with Blue Lunch and Evelyn Wright at the Beachland Tavern!
